The mission of the Planning and Development Department is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public and to enhance the City’s aesthetic appearance, maintain and improve the commercial and residential environment, and raise the general quality of life in Cave Springs. In addition, it is the Department’s intent to implement comprehensive programs in regard to land development, building construction, neighborhood/subdivision preservation and floodplain management.
The Department is responsible for the processing of proposed land development projects. Types of actions processed by the Department include: Lot-Splits, Major and Minor Subdivision Plats, Rezonings, Conditional Use and Variance requests, Site Plan Approval applications, Building permit applications, Right-Of-Way dedications and vacations and Floodplain Management. All applications are reviewed in consideration of applicable development standards and regulations.
The Planning and Development Department is staff to the Cave Springs Planning Commission (CSPC), Cave Springs Board of Zoning Adjustment (CSBZA) and the Cave Springs City Council.
